GP Rating is intended for students preparing to begin onboard careers in the deck and engine support stream, with structured pre-sea training before joining a vessel as a trainee seaman.
Entry-Level Maritime Route
Designed for 10th standard candidates, ITI holders, and eligible diploma or degree holders seeking shipboard careers.
Residential Fee Coverage
Course fees include hostel, mess, uniforms, INDoS fee, exam fee, and digital training materials.
Onboard Progression
Candidates join the ship as trainee seamen and are promoted based on onboard performance.
Eligibility Criteria
- Passed 10th standard with an aggregate of 40% marks including Science and Mathematics subjects.
- Minimum 40% marks in English in 10th standard.
- Pass in 2-year ITI course from a Government approved institute with a minimum 50% aggregate in the final year.
- Age limit between 17.5 and 25 years for 10th and 12th standard holders.
- Age limit between 17.5 and 27 years for degree and diploma holders.

6/6 eyesight without any external aids.
